We hope to fix up meetings with local MPs David Hinchcliffe (Wakefield) and Bill O'Brien (Normanton) in the near future.
It seems to us that many of the problems facing M.E. sufferers can only be resolved at government level, so these meetings are very important.
We will be able to make a much greater impact at these meetings if some of the above MPs' own constituents are present. So, if you are in either of their constituencies and may be able to attend a meeting, please contact Steve Theobald.
We have recently had some very positive feedback about this group from one of our members. It is a free group for anyone between 5 and 25 years.
The group makes a big emphasis on friendship and making penpals. They produce a very readable and positive small magazine every two months. They also have good leaflets for school , friends, family etc.
Jill Moss, a retired Headteacher with ME, who runs the group, is often available for you to talk to direct. She is always full of good advice and can also give you telephone numbers of others who may help.
They have a conference each year (a weekend in Milton Keynes) for young sufferers and carers.
If you are between 5 and 25 or you are a parent with a child with ME why not get in touch with AYME. They are also very good at answering queries from schools, home Tutors etc.

We have been sent the following details of a new ME group for all you twenty-something sufferers.
Don't just lie there and take it, lie there and join us !
The ME "Revolution From Our Beds" Campaign (ME ROB) has been started up by a group of twentysomethings with long term ME who decided enough is enough. We aim to correct the misinformed media and raise awareness of the devastation this illness can cause. We need to know how many of you, like us, feel that ME sufferers are still being discriminated against.
Membership of ME ROB is completely free of charge, just send an SAE to the address below and you will receive our first newsletter with promotion stickers and posters. No matter how ill we are, we can still make a difference !
ME ROB is at 83 Rivermead, Wilford Lane, West Bridgford, Nottingham NG2 7RF.
A list of some of the places in the area where you can hire scooters or wheelchairs which we thought may be useful for those of you hoping to have some days out during the summer. That is if we ever get any decent weather!
Please let us know of any more you are aware of that we haven't mentioned so we can update our list.
If you have any items you think may be of interest to our members
please send them to the newsletter editor.
